Happy New Year!
If you know me, you probably know that I like to read. Every once in a while someone I'm catching up with will ask if I'm still reading a lot. My answer is usually 'not really'. Then I think about it for a second, and provide my annual reading goal of 52 books per year, or an average of one per week. Apparently, not everyone reads that much each year. I've also found out that its pretty unusual to set a reading goal outside of the school-age years, props to the Goodreads challenge for making me feel normal.
For 2016, I wanted to read all of the A Song of Ice and Fire books by George R. R. Martin (which, for those that don't know, was adapted to the Game of Thrones series on HBO). That goal was met (until the next book comes out anyway).
For 2017, I'm planning on pairing two of my many hobbies together. My mother kindly gifted me the 2015 Story Time Sampler pattern from The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery. Each month is represented by a classic story. My goal is to read (or re-read) one of these stories and cross-stitch that section of the pattern each month.
Stay tuned for my progress updates.
